Look at these pictures to see how cheese ages in just 4 weeks with different storage methods.

We stored 4 pieced of 2 types of cheese in each of the four major cheese storage methods:

              Cheese Paper                       Cheese Bags

              Plastic Wrap                         The CheeseSaver

After only 4 weeks, every other storage method allowed for mold to grow and turned expensive cheese into something you wouldn't eat.   But the cheese stored in the CheeseSaver looks great, smells great and is ready to serve.

Day 28:

Day 1:

And after 4 1/2 months:

Why not Plastic Wrap?

Cheese needs air to breathe or it suffocates.  In a few weeks, cheese wrapped in plastic wrap develops a plastic taste and the cheese surface changes texture.  Wax paper works better but leads to drying out and a cracked unappetizing surface.  The Cheese Saver is the unique cheese storage container to keep cheese moist and fresh longer than any other method.

Why not Cheese Paper or Cheese Bags?

Cheese needs moisture.  If you don't add moisture in the storage environment, the air around the cheese will take the moisture out of the cheese.  Cheese bags and cheese paper provide better protection than plastic wrap, but over a few weeks of repeated opening, they allow the cheese to dry out.

Unique Humidor System of the CheeseSaver

The unique humidor system of the Cheese Saver keeps your fine cheese in a 95% humidity environment, identical to the cheese storage containers used by the cheese makers when they store and age fine cheese.  This high humidity system is what keeps your cheese fresh and moist.

100% Air Tight Container

Our cheese storage containers use a four sided locking system and tight seal resulting in an air-tight container that keeps refrigerator smells out of the cheese and cheese smells out of your refrigerator.

Dishwasher Safe

Every few weeks just run all Cheese Saver components through the dishwasher to keep the Cheese Saver clean.

Capacity

The Cheese Saver can hold between 2 and 3 pounds of cheese, depending on how it is cut.

How does it work?  By placing 1/2 inch of water in the small container (pictured below), the sponge brings that water into contact with the air, keeping the entire Cheese Saver at over 95% humidity.  Coupled with the cool temperature of your refrigerator, this is the perfect environment for long-term cheese storage.

Holds over 2 pounds of Cheese !

At only $23.99 plus $7.00 for shipping and handling, this is a deal too good to pass up.

Or, upgrade to the large size and have double the capacity for only $34.99 and $11.00 shipping.  The Large Cheesesaver holds over 4 pounds of cheese at 5.2 liters.

For optimal preservation of fine cheeses, follow these steps:

1. Thoroughly wash all components before first use.  All components are dishwasher safe.

2. Fill the small container with (a)  1/4 inch of water and (b) a drop   of dishwashing liquid (to retard mold growth).

3. Place the small container inside  the Cheese Saver.

4. Individually wrap each piece of cheese in wax paper and place in large compartment of Cheese Saver.

5. Close lid tightly and store container with cheese in the refrigerator.

6. After each use, rewrap used cheese in new wax paper and add water to the small container as necessary.

7. Once per month, or if mold appears, run container and sponge through dishwasher and repeat steps 2-6.

8. Enjoy longer lasting flavor and freshness of your fine cheeses.
